From Office to a Date Night

Dress: Wal-mart ($10), Heels: Shoe Warehouse sale ($15), Watch: Fossil (gift), Bracelet: Claire's ($3), Studs: Forever 21 ($3)

This is what I wore to office in the morning today with a white blazer and a messy hair bun (sorry no pic - but just use your imagination). After 5pm, hubby and I decided to head out for dinner with friends. Date night outfit entailed letting the hair down and taking off the blazer.

Isn't this the cutest dress? I have been having a weird luck with finding cute dresses at WALMART! Oh, forgot to mention it has pockets, and the coolest back EVER! right??

Happy Hump Day! :)

I recently picked up this beautiful summer dress at Old Navy (I meant picked it up online for such a steal)! a few weeks ago! Its navy and white stripes but looks black on screen. Paired it with my pink blazer for a punch of color in the outfit!

Florals and Neon Green

Dress: RICKI's - $10 (with a coupoun) - shop here, Cardigan: RICKI's ($15), Skinny belt: borrowed from another dress, Sandals: ALDO - old ($20), Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: gift,
Toe nail polish: Revlon ~ 281 - classy

I am in love with this dress, its perfect for the office! First I didn't really like it bec its base black color and thats not what I think when buying a summer dress. But 3 weeks later, I spotted it online 60% off, so I gave it another consideration (God, I am such a bargain shopper!!).

I am glad I got it for $10 only but even with $23 original price, it is still a great deal. The dress is exploding with color, can be worn with any color cardigan like I paired neon green here. This piece ladies, is totally remixable!

How do you choose your summer dresses? Please share below :)

My most versatile dress (& I got the job!)

Dress: George via Wal-mart ($15), Blazer: H&M ($20), Nude Heels: Shoe Warehouse sale ($15)

I know alot of girls swear by their LBD's and I love by black dress too, but this is my by far most worn dress till date. Its so versatile...I have worn it all sorts of ways and still had not worn it with a white blazer. Even though I call this is fall dress bec of the fall colors in here, I think I liked it with a white on top.

Wore this as I started my first day at my new job! and things went well. Here is what I wore for my interview :)

Peachy

Dress: Walmart ($15), Blazer: H&M ($30), Watch: Fossil (gift), Pumps: Steve Madden, skinny belt: borrowed from another dress

I bought this dress at wal-mart a year ago and I have worn it so many different ways. I probably would not have have ventured out to wear it so many ways, had I not being blogging. Just one of the great positive change I have noticed. Amen.

As a skirt with a neutral top, layered with a collared shirt, wearing the dress alone, wearing it with a colored cardigan.

Hope you find inspiration to get more use out of those dresses in your closet!

Union Dance

Dress: H&M ($30), Belt: $2, Necklace: Wedding gift (from in-laws), Bangles: F21 ($5),
Earrigns: Flee Market (in India)

My hubby and I went to the union dance last weekend and it was so much fun! I got to sit with the mayor and the councillors of our city (If you ask me, I felt like a BIG DEAL).

I also felt like a big deal, bec i wore my diamond jewellery that I received from my wedding gifts from my in-laws. I love the classy-ness of the necklace :) I dont know if you can tell by the design, but it matches with my engagement ring. and cobalt blue and gold works good together! :)

Layered Up!

My bloggy friend over at Freckles in April is hosting a winter challenge which I am happily participated in. Our first clue was layering...and I chose to layer a summer dress over a collared tunic to be safe for a work look.

It is a bliss having to have figured out a way to reuse my summer dresses, like last year when I was not blogging, I was buying winter dresses instead. Nothing wrong with that, but I would rather save $$ and re-use items!

Dress: Wal-Mart ($15), Tunic: H&M ($5), Tights: F21($3), Steve Madden Pumps via Winners ($35), Skinny belt: Thrifted ($2)

Hope you had a fantastic Monday, please come back tomorrow to see the next look!

Bright Mondays - Part 4!

We have been having lovely weather here, it is the end of November  and with above 0 temperatures here, it is pretty much aweomse (did you notice I just misspelled Awesome?!) Not once in 10 years I have lived here, has it ever happened that I am able to wear dresses in winter time without freezing my a$$, so needless to say I am very happy.

Dress: Wal-Mart, Tights: F21, Booties: Aldo, Cardigan: RICKI's (old)

Mr. F. started a new job last week and I packed him lunch - and got really creative with the hot sauce.

Hope you had a good thanksgiving and took full advantage of Black Friday sales. Canada had few sales in the stores until XMAS, I am on a shopping ban so decided to stick to it (plus everytime I organize my closet, I think to myself - Nav you have too much stuff, please don't buy more!) I am pretty much patting myself on the back on not heading out to the stores this weekend.

What did you score from the Black Friday sales? Pls do share!

Issues with Bridesmaids

is that in East-Indian cultures, the issue of bridesmaids don't exist. Well now that my fiancee is Canadian and we are doing 2 ceremonies - East Indian and Canadian/American. The only thing is now I have to choose between my close knit girlfriends. So I did. I picked 7! Mr. Fiancee only has 3 groomsmen and he doesnt wanna put any more. Well, its really really hard for me to include 3 and not the other four. I dont know what to do. I came up with couple of options and maybe you can help me out:

1) Have no bridesmaids or groomsmen and just have 2 people in the bridal party - best man as my brother and maid of honor by my side which is Ryan's sister (We are deciding to keep it in the family - plus we cant choose between our friends!)

2) For us to match the # of groomsmen with bridesmaids. (This is hard for me)

3) For us to have unmatching # of groomsmen and bridemaids - still hard for me to downsize the number.

4) Mr. Fiancee suggested this - to have 4 bridesmaids to match with 4 groomsmen and involve the other 3 potential bridesmaids be involved in some very important part of the wedding (luckily we have 5-6 ceremonies between 2 types of weddings).

The thing is - this is suppossed to be fun and this is becoming un-necessarily stressful. I dont want to hurt anyone's feelings you know and  I want to know what you guys think.

Maybe together we can come up with some creative idea! What do you think?

Oh, yeah this is what I wore today:

Dress: Cleo, Shoes: Payless, Blazer: Thrifted, Necklace: Gift
