What I wore for my Wedding reception.....

Me and my hubby Wedding Day photo!

AND

We came back to Canada in March after getting married in india in feb 2012. And about 2 weekends ago, we had our reception party for Canadian friends and family. This is what we wore for our reception! I wore a yellow saree - with a "discoball" blouse bec it had studs all over it!

I chose to do my hair in a bun with a flower pinned. I liked the look of it, it looked good in a hairdo. I don't have any closeups yet (sorry).

Since I cant dance in saree, I changed into one of my punjabi suits pink-green with sequins.

Us with Ryan side of the family

Last but not least, our wedding cake was so us. 7 years ago, when Ryan asked me out, he asked me out with a blue rose (since blue is my fav color) and so had to choose blue roses on the cake. we chose to do initials instead of cake toppers and peacock feathers bec the reception was decorated peacock themed.

Our night was very special and the wedding was a much celebratory event. I am greatful to have Ryan as my hubby and his parents as my in-laws.

Hope you enjoyed the photos! :) And these aren't the professional photos.

Teal and Leopard (Reception Weekend)

Shirt: Costa Blanca ($6), Pants: Suzy Shier ($10), Flats: Zellers ($8), Bangles: Forever 21 ($3)

I love these pants mainly bec they are ankle pants but more bec they go with everything. This khakhi color is so classsic! Teal shirt is so pretty with chiffon, lace and cute buttons on it and with some leopard mixed in - you get a perfect friday outfit for work - oh wait, but I am off today! ha ha

It is our wedding reception this week, we got married in Feb this year in India but this is party part 2! :D

I cant wait to see you all my in-laws family, my own family, friends, and me and my hubby all dressed up, it is going to be so much fun...all the girls get henna done tomorrow and my mani/pedi done too! and to top it all off, I am so thankful to have these beautiful times being brought in my life.

We are MARRIED!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts guys, I really didnt plan anything for my blog in my absence. My bad. But I am back now and will be doing regular posts in this week. I am sharing some of my favourite photos from the wedding which was on Feb 26, 2012 in India.

I am so happy and blessed to be married and it was a picture perfect day. It is kind of surreal to look back and say we actually got married. Do any of the married ladies relate? For us, it is just a blur.

the girls at the henna party!

I love my husband!

Hope you enjoyed the photos and thanks for sticking around. I love you, all my followers! I have moved to my husbands place and loving being together all the time.

Wedding festivities begin...4 more days to go!!!!

Want to know what I have been upto for the last 2 weeks - a hybrid wedding in INDIA........that's what. I have been having the time of my life.... My sis in law actually is writing a blog about it....check out the blog here: http://canadianmegan4.blogspot.in/ to get regular updates.....

Now that my hubby-to be has showed up here in India, I think I have fallen in love with him all over again (|we have been together for more than 6 yrs but then again who is counting!)

I think being a bride in india is the best blessing I have ever received in my life. 7 day bridal pampering package combined with pampering and excitement from the family...I just love it all!!!

My sis in law has learning the basics of language and has fast become the favourite of my dear grandma, who I am so lucky to have her blessed hands on us during the wedding festvities!

Megan and I ditched the modern day taxi for many rides in auto-rickshaw...they take u around the city for under $5 anywhere and plus you get a beautiful view through it.

I had a head message with a head spa, and a body massage....so freaking relaxing...I love INDIA. haha

I cant wait to get married...4 more days to go!!! :)

Bridal Shower

Today is my bridal shower!!! Wow, it is like Jan 8th already, well not LIKE, IT IS! 2011 flew right by and now 2012 is even going by faster it seems. Probably because I am so excited and want to be doing a million things at one as the wedding draws near!

Jeans: GAP (15$), Sweater: thrifted ($7), Tank: F21 ($2), Necklace: F21 ($5)

Today is my bridal shower! I can not believe it is already here. My mom to-be (Ryan's mom technically) is throwing me this lavishing shower where I will be surrounded by family,  R's cousins, friends, besties and moms, coworkers and a type of celebration every girl dreams of (I heard this through the grapevine). I am so freaking lucky and very blessed to become part of his family, they care SO much about me.

I have been waiting 6 years for this day to come,  I still havent decided what to wear. Either it will be a one-shoulder bright dress or an LBD with bright accessories, we shall see. I will pose pics in a post in the coming week.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Sunday! :)

A Beautiful Thought

You know this morning I read on someone's blog saying that: In a marriage, make sure you compete for compromises. It makes sense but we live in such a self-centred world, that would definitely serve as a great reminder for once we are married.

Between Ryan and I, when we share our meals with brocolli - none of us eats the last brocolli piece bec even though we both love brocolli, we want the other person to have it bec get IMMENSE satisfaction if the other one has it. Sometimes that creates a scene in a resturant, but we don't care.

I know this isn't a BIG compromise but still......

A very Exciting Year - 2012!

2012 is our year, is a year where my best friend and I will get married. Only a girl's heart can know how she feels when there are few days left for her to get married. There are so many emotions running through my heart and mind these days.

The excitement to be searching for THE wedding dress, then sad emotions about parting with my family soon after the wedding, amazement on how far R and I have come and become so much stronger than we have ever been

Vest: Hand me downs, Boots: S.M., Pants: GAP ($15), Plaid: thrifted ($7)

and then the next moment, I get so much more happy to think about new things we would do as newlyweds and start our new life together - a new chapter in life, sometimes feel anxious wondering if everything would go ok. In fact, I wont be suprised if there would be some bumps along the way. and that is ok, nothing is perfect. Well except GOD.

Infact, my only resolution this year to Enjoy more, Laugh more and Worry less, esp about things not in our control and I wanna share my new favourite song with all of you called "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bob McFerin.

What is your "things/habits to improve on" for this new year!?
