Chandelier Eaarings

Dress: Dynamite
Sandals: Spring
Eaarings: Claire's
Belt: Thrifted

It was a gorgeous day out in Edmonton today and I took full advantage. Summers are so short here, and that while its here - I don't want to miss out on wearing skirts/dresses. This white dress is so versatile (like LBD) and has some nice crochet detailing on it. For some reason, I just felt like dressing up today (cue: Big Chandelier earrings) and got compliments from co-workers all day.

Nice job to the photographer, and I wasnt even posing. It is that candid.

Do you own a white dress? How do you style it?

NOW I NEED YOUR HELP: Please leave your opinions below and I am looking forward to you guys helping me decide:

I picked out these 3 combo's to wear for a summer wedding happening tomorrow. I am torn between these choices and don't want to be overdressed as it is a weekday wedding and is MY FIRST (Canadian wedding) one.

Please help me out!!

Thank you so much!

Polka Dots and Stripes

Shirt: Forever 21
Scarf: H&M
Cargos: Dynamite (bought 7 yrs ago)
Ring, Necklace: Ardene's

This is what I wore this weekend. I was running errands and it was rather cloudy (as oppossed to sunny bec thats what weatherman said) so I went with a pair of cargos. I had originally paired the outfit with a red belt to have a pop of color. But then I saw this picture in my inspiration folder here and got inspired and decided to bust out my red polka dot scarf to use as my BELT. I am actually quite surprised how well it went - I loved pairing this scarf before also in this outfit. Good H&M find, I tell ya! =]

Its good timing for this outfit as EBEW is also mattern mixing this time around. Will you linking up this time around?

3 Things I want to Share

Tank, Cadrigan, Skirt - Thrifted

I am feeling particularly ambitious today. Playing a lead role to arranging most things for the engagement party - shopping, logistical planning, making unlimited phone calls, settling in a new job that I got a month ago, and moving to a new house, rennovating the old house - is all causing me to be very tired lately. But today I am gonna share with you- things I would like to get started on - as this storm calms down a little.
So today I am going to share few things that I would like to learn over the next year or so:
  1. Learning how to stitch and sew - I admire bloggers who can pick up a XXL skirt from a thrift store and make it into a S size skirt/dress or they pick up a patterned cloth at the store and then make a beautiful dress out of it. Linking to my thriftiness addiction towards clothes, I think this skill would be used pretty often.
  2. I want to learn how make my own jewellery - more often than not, I see a beautiful piece of jewellery on someone's blog and I want it. Either it is sold out in the store or  it is over $100.00. I can't afford that on a necklace so I am tempted to make my own. I plan to take a weekend class in fall 2011 and can't wait to get started.
  3. Getting around to learning to be more organized. I want to have an organized closet, organized dresser, organized office and learn how to make use of a small space. Moms are particularly good at this.

Is there anything you are striving to be better at? I would love to hear your ambitions. Share away! :)

Yellow Gold It Is.....

We arrived at the mall first thing on saturday (before the mall was even open - we were eager to start) and we had 4 planned visits to different stores. I wore the bright yellow top with some jeans - nice, comfortable shopping outfit.

Looking at rings - and waiting for the stores to open

I have NEVER been in a mall - where shops are closed. It felt weird being so early, but we got LOTS accomplished shopping all DAY.

3 top contenders today - one thing is decided I am going with yellow gold, we were thinking of getting a ring (not too fancy) for now and then upgrade later! But then I kinda feel like engagement ring is his gift to me, I shouldn't be thinking about upgrading his gifts.

What did you guys do? Did you buy fancy ring at first and kept the same ring or did you buy first and upgraded later?

Would love for you to help me out! I value your suggestions :)

Not so Typical Friday Night

This is what I wore recently. My mom got me this disney shirt which had "FASHINONISTA" written all over it! This.shirt.was.made.for.me.

Decided to knot up the shirt for the evening.

Then the FUN BEGAN! It was long weekend! R and I grabbed a quick bite at home after work and grabbed some iced cappaccino and on our way to RING SHOPPING! It was a sunny gorgeous day out!

So excited to go ring shopping. He hasn't proposed to me yet, YET we knows we are getting married next year, we are the most NON-TYPICAL couple you ever gonna meet.

Also went on a dinner date with my bestie and her hubby and talked about "important" things. I am Indian and eat indian food all the time yet food in a RESTURANT just smells and tastes SUPER GOOD every time.

And here are the 3 top contenders so far - sorry the 2nd pic is so blurry. The pictures DO not justify their prettiness AT ALL. I am not after the diamond, but after the design but none of these ones really have me SOLD yet. So we go again tomorrow.

Now, come back for another post as I will be updating my ring findings and outfits that went with them for each day :)

Fancy door, new deck...I cant complain

Dress: Walmart
Shoes: Payless
Cardigan: H&M
Belt: Thrifted
Necklace: Gift
Earrings: Forever XII
Bracelet: Mappins -Gift

Door: New House

Love the pleats. color and how it falls on me - hides my tummy :P

This new deck is wonderful. I love you deck, you make a perfect place to take picture. I am so happy and as a style blogger, I can't complain. I love this thrifted dress, has empire waist and has pleats. I had the choice to either get this dress in black and white pattern and or this green army pattern. I was so confused but I chose this one. Not sure if I made the best choice. But I figured black and white pattern skirt that I have should be enough, its better to have 2 different patterns than the same thing over and over again.

Do you think its a wise choice?

Christmas Shirt

Blouse - fairweather
Pants: GAP
Belt: Urban Planet
Shoes: Payless
Jacket - Urban

This shirt always reminds me of Christmas because I got it 4 years ago to wear it for Christmas get-together at Ryan's parents. I guess ruffles were a BIG detail back then too! and I love plaid (the country music lover that I am) and its tunic size! so it can worn in bazillion ways. Don't you just love classic pieces like that - that you can dress over and over again.

I promised you to show you my engagement dress sneek-peek few posts ago. Although, the dress has gone to get dry cleaning so I can't take a pic of it, but I did find something on google..so here it is...like the colors in the picture below matches the color scheme of the dress (punjabi choodi-daar suit)

Anywhoo Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)
